Visual arts exhibition by Isadora Jackson exploring the fragmented nature of memory through image, light, shadow and sound at Co-Lab Projects.
Isadora Jackson brings Within My Maze of Memory to Co-Lab Projects from September 12 through October 24, 2026. It's an immersive installation that takes over the culvert gallery, turning the space into a maze of image, light, shadow, and sound. Jackson treats memory as something we're always moving through—fragmented, reconstructed, obscured, and reshaped by the present—rather than a fixed archive. A sound composition by Erik Jackson extends the experience beyond the visual, so it's as much about what you hear as what you see.
The project grew out of an ongoing dialogue between Jackson and curator Leslie Moody Castro during residencies in Mexico City and Latvia, where they recalled family stories passed down through generations. From there, the exhibition frames remembering as a collaborative act, one where personal recollections join fragments remembered by others. Rooted in the U.S.-Mexico borderlands where she grew up, Jackson translates geography, memory, and identity into layered visual languages of symbols, maps, and architectural forms.
