Introduction to Clay 3D Printing

Nasrin Iravani is leading a free workshop on clay 3D printing at the Spicewood Springs Branch Library on Saturday, July 18. It's a session that puts traditional ceramic art and modern 3D printing in the same room, and you'll walk away with something you actually made.

Iravani is an artist, a computational designer, and the founder of TXARTECH, and this isn't just a side project for her. Her doctoral dissertation at Louisiana State University focused on this exact intersection—the fusion of ceramics and 3D printing—so she's coming to the table with a deep background in the subject. The workshop is built around that overlap: how to take a medium as old as clay and combine it with emerging technology to create a physical object.

During the session, she'll demonstrate how the two work together, and you'll get to follow along. It's a hands-on look at the process, and you'll leave with a creation of your own to take home.
