Creeping Death and Mugger headline Mohawk on Saturday, July 18, as part of Hot Summer Nights. They're joined by The High Cost of Playing God, Sittin' Sideways, Ritual, Nemesis, and Limit of Destruction.
Hot Summer Nights is an annual community arts and music festival presented by the Red River Cultural District. It runs for three days, from July 16 to July 18, across nearly a dozen iconic live music venues within the district. The festival puts on hundreds of admission-free performances, pairing established touring acts with up-and-coming local Austin and Texas artists. The district frames the event as support for the area's independently owned venues and the local workers who run them.
Mohawk, at 912 Red River, is a multi-level Red River anchor that's been voted Best Live Music Venue in the Austin Music Poll. Its spacious outdoor stage is surrounded by balconies with clear sight lines and good sound, and there are multiple bars on hand. Inside, there's a cozier performance space. Over the years, it's hosted outsized SXSW appearances from the Stooges, the Specials, and X.
