Hot Flash Heat Wave is an indie rock band from Davis, California, now based in San Francisco. They've built their sound around a few different threads—surfer pop, dream pop, and psychedelic rock—and they tend to lean into all of them at once. The melodies are the thing that sticks, and they share lead vocals across the band, so the songs don't just hang on one voice.
They first made a name for themselves with "Gutter Girl," and their discography since then includes the albums Neapolitan, Soaked, and Sportswear.
