A guided clay workshop where attendees create a hibiscus-themed jewelry dish, with the piece fired and glazed for pickup in 10 days.
The Art Garage is hosting a Hibiscus Clay Workshop on Friday, July 24, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. It's a guided session where you'll make a small jewelry dish shaped like a hibiscus flower, so it's a good fit if you've never worked with clay before. The class is for ages 16 and up, and it runs at all The Art Garage locations in Austin—the South Austin spot is at 8204 Brodie Lane, Suite 103, and the Brentwood one is at 5501 North Lamar, Suite A-225.
Here's how the process works: you spend the evening shaping your dish, and then the studio takes over for the technical part. They fire and glaze the piece for you, so it'll be ready for pickup in 10 days. If you want to add your own touch, there's a window on Tuesday or Wednesday to come back and glaze the frame yourself at no extra charge. If you'd rather paint it, that's a $5 fee.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Austin and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

Space is limited, and you'll need to buy a ticket in advance to get in. The cost is $40, and since it's offered at both locations, you can pick whichever one is easier to get to. It's a one-and-a-half-hour session on a Friday evening, so you'll be done by 7 PM.
