Stand-up comedy tour featuring first responders including cops, firefighters, doctors, nurses and ex-military sharing funny stories from the line of duty.
Heroes Off Duty brings its comedy tour to Cap City Comedy Club on Saturday, November 21, at 4 PM. The show is billed as "First Responders Do Standup!" with the tagline "Saving Lives with Laughter!", and the premise is exactly what it sounds like: first responders who do stand-up on the side.
The lineup is a showcase of people who spend their days in high-pressure jobs—cops, firefighters, doctors, EMTs, nurses, pharmacists, and ex-military—sharing the wild and funny stories that come from working on the line of duty. It's not a single act, but a collection of different voices from across those professions, each pulling from their own experiences in the field.
Behind the tour are the creators of Bored Teachers, who have staged over 250 sold-out shows in theaters across the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. They describe Heroes Off Duty as the fastest-growing first responder comedy platform on the internet, with more than 500,000 social media followers and millions of video views. The Austin stop is part of that larger circuit.
