Hannah Swann

Hannah Swann plays the Saxon Pub on Wednesday, August 5, at the BMI Acoustic Lounge. She's a Texas-born Americana singer-songwriter, and the set fits the room: just her voice and her guitar, with the songs taking center stage.

Swann describes her sound as a blend of the Lone Star State and Nashville, and the names she drops as influences give you a good sense of where she's coming from. She points to the vulnerability of Patty Griffin, the grit of Bonnie Raitt, and the emotional depth of Susan Tedeschi—three artists who all lean into the raw, storytelling side of Americana. If those names ring a bell, you've got a pretty clear idea of the kind of night this is going to be.

She's been working the Texas circuit for a while. Her career kicked off in 2016 with her first single, "Hometown," which she performed at the Americana Jam Festival alongside Jack Ingram at Gruene Hall. Since 2021, she's been playing more than 100 shows a year, and she launched the "Hannah & a Headliner" Monday night series at Gruene Grove. Her 2022 debut EP, Between Love & Longing, features collaborations with Brady Black, Jeff Plankenhorn, Zack Walther, and Matthew Briggs.

It's a mid-week show, so it's an easy one to fit into the week without having to clear your whole schedule. The set starts at 6 PM at the BMI Acoustic Lounge inside the Saxon Pub.
