A session of live Latin music within the HAAM Day festival, benefiting the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians.
Latinpalooza returns to Radio/East on Tuesday, September 22, as part of HAAM Day. The lineup features Thelonious Love, Quentin, and Cesar Valencia on the decks. It's a returning favorite at the venue, which is the second Austin location from the Radio Coffee & Beer team—they serve espresso and breakfast tacos by morning and cocktails and live music by evening on the outdoor stage.
Latinpalooza is one of hundreds of shows happening across the city that day. It falls under HAAM Day, the signature fundraiser for the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, which is billed as the world's largest one-day, all-local music festival. It's a three-time winner of 'Most Creative Event' at the Austin Music Awards, and the scale of it is hard to wrap your head around: more than 400 local musicians deliver 250+ performances across 120+ venues throughout Greater Austin, from Stubb's to neighborhood H-E-B and the TownLake Trail. Every single one is free and open to the public.
The festival is powered by PNC, SXSW, and C3 Presents, and the money raised goes to HAAM, which provides healthcare for Austin's working musicians. So while the music is free, the day itself is built around supporting the people who make it. If you're already planning to spend the day hopping between stages, Latinpalooza is a good one to slot in.
