The George Carver Trio showcases the songwriting of Austin musician George Carver, blending Americana, jazz, folk, blues and roots music into an intimate, listening-room experience.
George Carver Trio plays Sam's Town Point on Wednesday, July 29, at 7 PM. The set is built around the songwriting of Austin musician George Carver, who pulls from Americana, jazz, folk, blues and roots music. It's a listening-room kind of show rather than high-energy bar music, and the trio is known for thoughtful storytelling, poetic lyrics and sophisticated musicianship.
Sam's Town Point is a south Austin icon that's been serving ice-cold beer and foot-tappin' live music since 1981. It sports two stages, one inside and one out, and is camouflaged by a wooded neighborhood beyond Slaughter and Manchaca, hidden from the road. It's often called the 'South Pole of Austin's musical axis'—geographically the city's least visible venue, yet one that has emerged as a happening scene. The show starts at 7 PM at 2115 Allred in south Austin.
