Austin Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment (ACME) is holding an in-person workshop on the FY27 Elevate Grant this Saturday, August 15, at the Torch Center. It runs from 10 AM to 11:30 AM, and it's free and open to the public.

For a bit of context, ACME is the department the City of Austin set up in February 2025 to better support the city's creative community. Their goals are to provide direct support to artists and cultural groups, grow the local economy, build enduring partnerships between artists and businesses, and strengthen Austin's identity as a global city for creativity. The FY27 funding cycle draws on four programs — Elevate, Thrive, the Austin Live Music Fund and the Heritage Preservation Grant — with more than $23 million to be invested.

To give you a sense of the scale, in the previous FY26 cycle, ACME awarded 731 grants totaling more than $24 million across those same four programs, after 1,607 applicants requested over $67 million. It's a competitive process, which is exactly why a session like this is useful before you dive in.
