Kal McRaven, known as FunkyFrogBait, brings their first comedy tour to Austin with irreverent monologues and musical numbers.
Kal McRaven, who records as FunkyFrogBait, brings their first-ever comedy tour to The State Theatre on Tuesday, September 8. The show is titled Internet Kid (The Comedy Tour), and it's billed as an evening variety show. McRaven describes the set as irreverent 'brainrot,' cringe-inducing childhood memories, and unnecessary musical numbers.
If the name doesn't ring a bell, the background might. McRaven is a YouTuber and comedian who got their start making sketch comedy videos on TikTok in 2021. Since then, they've expanded into long-form commentary on their main channel, FunkyFrogBait, and gaming on a second channel, FunkyFrogPlays. This is the first time they're taking that online presence and turning it into a full tour.
It's not their first time on a stage, though. They stepped out from behind the screen in 2024 with FunkyFrogBait Live in Arlington, Texas, followed by a second show, My Name is Kal, in Los Angeles. The Austin date is presented with Resound Presents, a small team that books artists for music venues and unique locations across Central Texas and handles booking, creative marketing, and design for national and locally touring musicians and comedians.
