Fugitive Visions residency night featuring live performances by The Mallards, Telemarket, and Jack Wilson at the historic Hole in the Wall venue.
Fugitive Visions is hosting another residency night at Hole in the Wall on Monday, July 20, with The Mallards and Telemarket taking the main slots. Jack Wilson is also on the bill, so it's a full night of music rather than just a couple of sets. The residency format means this is one of several nights Fugitive Visions is putting together at the venue, so if you're into the kind of acts they book, this is one of a few chances to catch them in the same room over the coming weeks.
For those who aren't familiar, Hole in the Wall is a campus-area staple that's been around since 1974. It started as a folkie hangout and was a favorite stage for Townes Van Zandt, Nanci Griffith, and Blaze Foley before it grew into a breeding ground for punk, cosmic country, and alternative music. Over the years, it's launched the careers of Timbuk3, Fastball, Spoon, and Shakey Graves. It's still a two-stage dive with a capacity of a couple hundred, and it still hosts live music every night, so it's kept its role as a proving ground for new bands. It briefly shuttered in 2002 and came close to being priced out in 2015, but it's still standing and still doing exactly what it's always done.

That's the kind of room this night fits into: a dive bar on Guadalupe that's seen a lot of different sounds pass through its doors. The Mallards and Telemarket are the main features of the evening, with Jack Wilson rounding out the lineup. It's a free show, and you'll need to be 21 or older to get in. The date is Monday, July 20, at Hole in the Wall, 2538 Guadalupe St.
