Epoch Coffee celebrates its 20th anniversary with 20 hours of music, drink specials and various activities at its North Loop location.
Epoch Coffee is celebrating its 20th anniversary on Saturday, August 1, at its original North Loop location. The coffeehouse is marking two decades of service to the Austin community, and the celebration runs from 7 AM to 3 PM.
For those who know the place, the North Loop spot at 221 W. North Loop is more than just a college-student crash-out spot. It's a 24-hour venue known for its range of brewing methods, Adventure Time-inspired tarot art, and a cold-brewed hibiscus-mint tea. Back in 2006, it took home the Austin Chronicle Critics Pick for Best 24-Hour Coffee, and since then it's grown into a citywide presence with other locations at 2700 W. Anderson and 3900 Far West. This anniversary goes back to the original shop that started it all.
The day is built around the number twenty: 20 hours of music, drink specials, and what they describe as "water activities," though those last are left a bit vague. It's a long stretch of music and specials for a shop that's spent twenty years keeping the lights on and the coffee flowing.
