Four UT Austin singer-songwriters perform indie, pop, folk, and alternative acoustic sets for a free show.
Emma Grace, Sami G, Emery Gentzel, and AB Brown share a bill at The Cactus Cafe on Thursday, September 10. It's a showcase of four UT Austin singer-songwriters, and the music covers a fair bit of ground: indie, pop, folk, and alternative. The whole night leans on acoustic sets, dreamy vocals, and heartfelt storytelling rather than a full band, so it's the kind of bill where the songs and the voices take center stage.
Emma Grace is an Austin-based songwriter who blends a pop-folk sound with imagery-centered lyrics. She draws from Lizzy McAlpine, Noah Kahan, and Olivia Dean, so you can get a sense of where she's coming from before you even hear a note. The other three—Sami G, Emery Gentzel, and AB Brown—round out the lineup, each bringing their own take to the acoustic format. With four different writers on one bill, the night moves through a few different moods rather than sticking to one sound.
