Concert by Austin-based folk and Americana songwriter Emily McLoud at The Aristocrat Lounge.
Emily McLoud plays The Aristocrat Lounge on Sunday, September 20, at 4 PM. She's an Austin-based folk and Americana songwriter, and this is a solo date.
McLoud works as a palliative-care nurse practitioner, and that background comes through in her writing. She describes her songs as exploring love, loss, resilience, and the quiet work of being human, and she brings a lived honesty to the storytelling that you don't often find in folk music. It's the kind of songwriting that doesn't shy away from the harder parts of life, and she pairs that emotional clarity with an earthy, roots-driven sound.
Much of what she'll be playing comes from her album Where I Am Today, which Darden Smith produced. The record grew out of a year of transition, tenderness, and hard-won self-understanding, and the songs on it touch on parenthood, anxiety, creative longing, and gratitude. It's a collection that looks at the small, personal shifts that happen when you're figuring things out, and it sits right at the center of her folk and Americana roots.

Outside of her solo work, she also performs throughout Central Texas as half of the duo Silver&Sage. This show is a solo appearance, so it'll be just her and her songs. It starts at 4 PM on Sunday, September 20, at The Aristocrat Lounge, 6507 Burnet Rd, and admission is free.
