Double Heads are back at Hyperreal Film Club on Thursday, September 24, with Double Heads Live! You're the Host Part VII. It's a semi-scripted one-act play that turns the audience into the show: someone from the crowd is chosen to play host on a rowdy late-night talk show, with Double Heads' Matt Fox and Dillon Minacci running the rest of it. The night mixes monologues, celebrity guests, and what they call poorly implemented practical effects.
If you've seen their previous Live! You're the Host shows, you know the drill: the host is an audience member, and the rest of the evening is built around that. The whole thing comes from the same place as Double Heads Variety Hour, the late-night talk show where reality warps, laws don't exist, and the host is always someone from the room. This is the seventh installment of the live version.
There's a bit of a first-come, first-served element to the night, too: the first 50 guests get a chance to spin a wheel. Between that and the random selection for host, the room is as much a part of the show as the script. If you're not the one in the host's chair, you're still in the mix.

It runs from 7:30 PM to 11:00 PM at Hyperreal Film Club, 301 Chicon Street, Austin, TX 78702, with doors opening at 7:00 PM. If you want a shot at the wheel, you'll want to be among those first 50 through the door.
