Austin-based folk and rock artist Dom Francis performs live at Sam's Town Point.
Dom Francis plays Sam's Town Point on Sunday, October 4, with the set starting at 9 PM. He's an Austin-based artist whose music is rooted in folk and rock but doesn't stick to one genre, drifting through shadowy dreamscapes, desert highways, and backwoods silence. He blends blues, country, psychedelic rock, Americana, and folk rock into a sound that pulls from several different traditions at once.
Francis didn't start here. He was raised in the Northeast and spent time in El Paso, Missouri, and Appalachia before settling in Austin, and those places show up in the music. His debut album, The Wanderer, is described as analog warmth with raw edges, and his sophomore record, The State of Things, is out now. Between the two, there's enough to pull from for a full set.
