Dom Francis

Dom Francis plays Sam's Town Point on Sunday, August 23, with the show starting at 9 PM. It's a single-bill night, so the focus is entirely on him.

Francis describes his work as more than just songwriting, saying he attempts to create worlds. The music is rooted in folk and rock but doesn't stay in either, drifting through shadowy dreamscapes, desert highways, and backwoods silence. He was raised in the Northeast and spent time in El Paso, Missouri, and Appalachia before landing here in Austin, and that wide geographic stretch shows up in the sound. The band chases the feeling that made rock & roll matter in the first place, writing guitar-driven songs that blur the lines between rock, country, blues, soul, and Americana without sounding like a throwback act.

There's a good amount of new material to hear. Following his debut album, The Wanderer, in 2025, the guitar-driven sophomore record The State of Things arrived in February 2026, so this set will draw from both. The live shows are loud, loose, and played without backing tracks.
