A tribute to Dolly Parton featuring film screenings, a costume contest and donations for her Imagination Library.
We Luv Video is hosting a Dolly Tribute & Costume Contest this Sunday, August 30, from 7 PM to 9 PM. The whole night is built around Dolly Parton, whom the organizers call a true icon, and it's a come-and-go kind of affair, so you can drop in whenever you're free.
Throughout the evening, they'll be screening clips from her films and performances, so there's always something to watch while you're there. The costume contest is a big part of the night, and you're encouraged to show up dressed as your favorite era of Dolly—whether that's the early country days, the big-haired 80s, or anything in between. If you're not into the costume side of things, you can still hang out and catch the clips.
There's also a charitable side to the evening. They'll be collecting donations for Dolly's Imagination Library, a program that sends free books to children and a cause close to her heart. It's a good chance to put some money toward something she actually cares about while you're celebrating her.
