A bilingual yoga session for Día de los Muertos with live mariachi music, blending yoga flow with crystal bowls and gongs in a space of remembrance.
Mariachi Corazon de Tejas joins instructor Isabel Sabel at the Moody Amphitheater on Monday, November 2, for a bilingual yoga session that doubles as a Día de los Muertos celebration. It runs from 6 to 7 PM at Waterloo Park, 1111 Red River St, and it's free to the community.
The class is the finale of the Yoga & Sound fall 2026 series presented by the Waterloo Greenway Conservancy, which has held sessions every Monday since September 14. This one closes the series on a bilingual note, with the practice conducted in both English and Spanish. The flow pairs a calming yoga sequence with the live rhythms of Mariachi Corazon de Tejas, so the music isn't just background—it's part of the movement.
Because it's a Día de los Muertos celebration, the final relaxation, Savasana, takes on a specific focus: a space for remembrance and love, held by the sounds of crystal bowls, gong, and chimes. The wider celebration at Waterloo Park turns the park into a place of reflection, and guests are invited to explore community altars set up across the grounds. It's a good way to spend the evening if you're looking for something a bit more contemplative than the usual holiday rush.
