Death Cab for Cutie performs live in Austin, Texas, with Swapmeet as the supporting act, on their 2027 North American headlining tour.
Death Cab for Cutie play Austin on Tuesday, March 23, 2027, with Swapmeet opening. The venue is still to be announced, but the date is set.
They're touring I Built You a Tower, their eleventh studio album and their first since leaving Atlantic Records after two decades. It came out June 5, 2026, on Anti-, which marks a return to independent labels more than twenty years after Transatlanticism. The album's "Stone Over Water" has an animated video by musician and animator Sean Solomon, who drew on cartoonists like Sergio Aragonés to pair the song's heavier subject matter with slapstick animation; Solomon said he found the track "incredibly personal."
The lineup is the one you know: Benjamin Gibbard, Nicholas Harmer, Jason McGerr, Dave Depper and Zac Rae. They still carry the character that won them mainstream success on albums like Narrow Stairs and Codes and Keys.
