Dan Whitaker, a songwriter with over 30 years of performing experience, brings a solo country, folk and blues show to Antone's as part of his 2026 Antone's ABIA solo tour.
Dan Whitaker plays Antone's on Wednesday, September 23, as part of his 2026 Antone's ABIA solo tour. He's a songwriter and lifelong musician with more than 30 years of performing and 14 albums of original songs behind him, and he recently relocated from Chicago to Texas.
His country style is shot through with blues, jazz and folk, and his latest album, I Won't Play By Your Rules, was engineered by Alex Hall at Reliable Recorders. That record includes a bonus instrumental with Chris Neal on saxophone, so there's a bit of a jazz thread running through his work alongside the country and folk. With 14 albums of original songs in his catalog, he's got a deep well to draw from for a solo set.
