Concert featuring the sludge metal band Crowbar with support from Deterioration at Emo's Austin.
Crowbar are playing Emo's Austin on Thursday, October 15, 2026. They're the main feature of the night, and they're bringing Deterioration along to open for them. If you've followed them for a while, you know the sound: heavy, slow-moving sludge that's as much about the weight as it is about the riffs. It's the kind of show that works best in a room like Emo's, where the low end has plenty of space to land.
Crowbar has been at this for decades, and they've built a whole reputation around that particular brand of southern-inflected sludge. It's a sound they've stuck with—down-tuned guitars, a slow, crushing tempo, and vocals that lean into the grit. They've spent years refining that approach, and this date is one of the stops on their current run. Deterioration opens the bill, so you'll get two acts on the same side of the fence.

Emo's is over on East Riverside, at 2015 E Riverside Dr, so it's an easy enough trip from most parts of town. The show starts at 5:30 PM, which is a bit earlier than your typical club night, so keep that in mind if you're coming from work. With Crowbar headlining and Deterioration opening, it's a full evening of heavy music in one spot. If you're into sludge, this is the one to mark down.
