Free popsicles and crafting sessions for kids at Letterpress PLAY on South Congress Avenue.
Letterpress PLAY is hosting Crafting & Popsicles on Thursday, October 15, with free popsicles and crafting sessions for kids. It's a simple afternoon for families: the kids get to make something and eat a popsicle while they're at it, and you get a little break. The event is free, so it's an easy one to drop into if you're already out with the kids.
If you haven't spent much time there, Letterpress PLAY is an Austin studio and shop built around traditional letterpress printing. It's a retail spot for handcrafted stationery, journals, collectible prints, and whimsical paper toys, but it also doubles as a space for crafting workshops and community events. The whole thing is set in a charming bungalow, which gives it a neighborhood feel rather than a big-box store vibe. They're also known for limited-edition design collaborations and apparel, so if you're into paper and print, there's plenty to look at while you're there.

One thing to keep in mind is that the studio is currently transitioning to a new home at 2209 South 1st St., Suite 101. If you've visited them before, you might want to double-check the address before you head out. The event itself is on South Congress Avenue, and the popsicles and crafting are free for the kids.
