Costume Swap

Austin Resource Recovery is hosting a Costume Swap at the Windsor Park Branch Library on Saturday, September 26, from 2 PM to 4 PM. It's a straightforward trade: you bring in clean, gently used costumes and accessories, and you swap them with the community. If you've got a few outfits from previous Halloweens that don't quite fit anymore, this is a good way to clear them out and pick up something new for this year without buying anything.

There's a practical side to the afternoon, too. On-site, volunteer mending coaches from Austin Resource Recovery will be available to help with hems, buttons, small tears, or patches. If you find something you love that needs a quick fix to fit right, you can get it sorted on the spot rather than taking it home to deal with later. It's a nice addition that turns a simple swap into something more like a community workshop.

The event is supported by Fix-It Austin, a City of Austin program, and is hosted by Austin Resource Recovery—the department formerly known as Solid Waste Services. It's free and open to the public, so you don't need to sign up or pay to participate.
