Comedy Mothership presents William Montgomery

William Montgomery takes the stage at Comedy Mothership on Friday, July 31. If you've spent any time following the Austin comedy scene over the last few years, you've likely come across his name. He's best known as the longest-running regular on Kill Tony, the live comedy podcast that's become a bit of a local institution since it moved to Austin in 2020.

For those who aren't deep in the Kill Tony orbit, the show's format is pretty straightforward: aspiring comedians put their names in a bucket for a chance to do one minute of stand-up in front of a live audience, followed by interviews and roasts from host Tony Hinchcliffe and co-host Brian Redban. It's the kind of environment where a few people really make a name for themselves, and Montgomery is one of them. He's gone by the nickname 'The Big Red Machine' and has clocked more than 331 appearances on the show, making him the most frequent regular in its history.

Beyond the podcast, he's built his own platform with The William Montgomery Show, his own podcast where he gets to steer the conversation.
