Adult colouring session with markers and coloured pencils at the Milwood Branch of the Austin Public Library.
Coloring! is happening at the Austin Public Library Milwood Branch on Tuesday, September 10, from 6 PM to 7:30 PM. It's an adult coloring session, part of the Do512 Family's craft series, and it's free.
The setup is simple: they provide the coloring pages and a collection of markers and colored pencils, and you spend the evening filling them in. If you've never done it before, that's fineโthe whole point is just to sit down and color for a while. The series focuses on a different craft every month, walking through the basics and the ins and outs before letting everyone loose, so you don't need to bring your own supplies or have any particular skill to join in.
The session is held at the Milwood Branch, located at 12500 Amherst Dr in far North Austin. The branch opened on July 26, 1997, the result of a campaign that started in the mid-1980s when local residents and neighborhood organizations lobbied for a branch in the area; funds were eventually approved in the 1992 bond election. The 8,266-square-foot facility sits on more than seven acres of wooded land and features Lori Norwood's sculpture Learning to Fly, part of the Austin Art in Public Places program.
