A new art series where participants weave a large-scale collaborative artwork across three public workshops, exploring how colour can create connections.
Color Match is a new art series that explores how color can create connections, and it's kicking off at 1401 Chestnut Ave in Austin. The whole thing is built around a single, large-scale collaborative artwork that participants weave together across three public workshops. Instead of one group doing the whole thing, the work is split up: the first workshop is for single parents and their children, the second is for single adults, and the third is a singles workshop open to everyone.
Once the weaving is finished, the piece is unveiled at an exhibition and community pig roast. After that, it gets installed on the building as a public artwork for the following year, so what you help make stays in the neighborhood long after the workshops are over. The project is supported in part by the Elevate Grant of Austin, Art, Culture, Music, and Entertainment.

The first session runs on Saturday, November 7, from 11 AM to 5 PM at 1401 Chestnut Ave. If you're a single parent with kids, this is the one for you to get in on.
