A monthly tribute to Frank Sinatra with vocalist Bryan Anthony, with proceeds benefiting the Texas Jazz Society.
Bryan Anthony and his quartet are back at Parker Jazz Club on Wednesday, August 5, for another installment of Celebrating Sinatra!, a monthly tribute to Frank Sinatra. The show is part of a recurring series at the venue that brings a new program each month, pairing the hits with a deep dive into the Sinatra songbook and the stories and anecdotes behind them. Proceeds from the night benefit the Texas Jazz Society.
Anthony is the show's crooner, and he comes to the stage with a background that fits the material. He's a veteran vocalist of the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, and the Nelson Riddle Orchestra—three names that sit right at the heart of the Swing Era. He describes his approach as keeping the legacy of the Great Gentlemen of Song alive through nostalgic performances, bringing that sound to contemporary audiences.
Because it's a monthly series, the set changes every time. You'll hear the hits, but the show also digs into the wider Sinatra songbook, with Anthony sharing the stories and anecdotes that go along with the music. It's less a straight-through concert and more of a guided tour through the songs, so if you've heard the big ones a thousand times, there's still something new to pick up each month.
