This is the opening night of the ATX Jazz Fest, which runs from April 2 to April 4. The festival was launched by ATX Chamber Music and Jazz, and they're billing it as the most significant gathering of jazz artists in Texas history, bringing together Grammy winners, MacArthur Fellows, and NEA Jazz Masters. Friday night is reserved for Platinum Pass holders only, so you'll need that specific tier to get in. The Assembly Hall is a converted East Austin venue at 1121 E 7th St, about a mile and a half from the Moody Amphitheater, with polished concrete floors, 16-foot ceilings, and arched windows built for close-range listening.
Saturday and Sunday move to the Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park, where the festival continues with a full line-up of jazz artists. Passes are sold in tiers, and the organizers warn that the artist line-up and schedule are subject to change.

As for the cost, standard passes start at $230, Gold from $625 with 350 available, and Platinum from $1,305. Since Friday night is Platinum only, that's the one you'll need for Salvant and Blanchard. The show runs from 6:30 PM to 11:59 PM at Assembly Hall, 1121 E 7th St.
