Cap City Comedy Club is running Stand Up Confidential on Saturday, August 22, starting at 4 PM. It's a one-off show, and the whole point is that you won't know who's performing until they actually walk on stage. The club handpicks a few of its favorite stand-ups from around the country and keeps the lineup under wraps, so you're buying a ticket without knowing the names on the bill.
It's built as a full night of comedy rather than a single act. There's an opener to get things moving, a feature in the middle, and a headliner to close it out, and the whole thing usually runs about an hour and forty minutes. Since the lineup is a secret, the draw is the club's curation—you're trusting them to pull together a bill of comics they're genuinely excited about.
Cap City bills itself as a contemporary venue that brings stadium-sized talent to an intimate room on a weekly basis, and the room lives up to that: you'll be no more than 60 feet away from the act. It's a non-smoking, 18+ room with general admission, balcony, and reserved seating. There's a two-item per person showroom minimum, and a full menu of food and drink—appetizers, craft beers, entrees, desserts, and homespun cocktails—so you can eat and drink throughout the show.
