Stand-up comedy show featuring Chicago comedian Maggie Hughes DePalo at the Cap City Comedy Club.
Maggie Hughes DePalo is playing Cap City Comedy Club over three nights, Friday, September 18, Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20. She's a Chicago comedian, born and raised on the city's south side, and she's bringing her set to the club's Red Room for the weekend.
Her path to stand-up is one of the things that gives her act its footing. She got into it after getting married and starting a family, and she jokes that it turned out to be more fun than book club. From there, she built her act around a deadpan style and sarcastic storytelling about marriage, motherhood, and mammogramsโthe kind of everyday domestic stuff that hits close to home for a lot of people. It's a specific, grounded kind of comedy that doesn't rely on punchlines so much as it does on the way she talks about the things most of us just deal with.
That approach has traveled well beyond the club circuit. She's got more than 140,000 followers and over 30 million views across Instagram and TikTok, with clips picked up by Inside Edition, Yahoo News, The New York Post, Daily Mail, Business Insider, and Fox News. In Chicago, she's a regular at Zanies, where she sold out three shows in her headlining debut. She also performed for Nateland's The Showcase, Season 3, and made history this year as the first female comedian to feature on Nate Bargatze's Arena tour. She's also a co-founder of ALL THAT GOOD STUFF, a comedy showcase and production company.
