A family-friendly trick-or-treating event with storytime, free ice cream and treats at BookPeople.
BookPeople is hosting Trick-Or-Read on Saturday, October 31, from 2 PM to 4 PM. It's a Halloween afternoon for families, and the whole thing is built around the tradition of trick-or-treating, just moved inside the bookstore.
There are a few different things happening at once. There's a storytime for the kids, and they'll be handing out free ice cream and treats. If you're bringing little ones, it's the kind of afternoon where you can let them wander around in their costumes and pick up some sweets without having to trek from house to house across the neighborhood. It's a low-stakes way to get into the holiday spirit during the day rather than waiting until dark.
Since it's at BookPeople, you'll be surrounded by books while the kids are getting their treats, so it's easy to browse the shelves while the storytime is going on. If you've got a few hours to kill on a Saturday afternoon, it's a simple way to spend it with the family.
