Book signing and presentation of the picture book Too Much Tony with Dr. Jenny Wang and Angela Pan Wong at BookPeople.
Dr. Jenny Wang and Angela Pan Wong are coming to BookPeople on Sunday, November 1, to talk about their picture book Too Much Tony. The session starts at 4 PM on the second floor, 603 North Lamar Boulevard, and it's free and open to the public.
Too Much Tony follows a boy named Tony who discovers that being "too much" — too curious, too loud, too full of big feelings — can actually be an asset. It's a picture book, so it's one of those that works as well for kids as it does for the adults reading it to them.
There's a bit of a cross-city connection behind the book. Dr. Jenny Wang is a Taiwanese American clinical psychologist based in Houston, and she's also the author of Permission to Come Home. She founded the @asiansformentalhealth community, so the focus on big feelings and mental health is right in her wheelhouse. Angela Pan Wong is an Austin-based illustrator who returned to illustration after working as a user experience designer. The two of them will be there together to talk through the book.

The session runs about 45 to 60 minutes, and there's a signing line afterward. If you want your copy signed, you'll need to buy the book or an item of equal value from BookPeople. There's no live stream or recording, so you'll have to be there in person to catch it. It's free and open to the public, starting at 4 PM on the second floor of BookPeople.
