BoDeans 40 Years of Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams... and Good Things

BoDeans are playing the Paramount and Stateside Theatres on Saturday, September 12, as part of a tour marking the 40th anniversary of their debut album, Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams. It's a two-and-a-half-hour show built around a video retrospective, with songs pulled from their 14 studio records spanning five decades—from the 1980s through the 2020s.

The band was founded and is still led by frontman, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Kurt Neumann. They emerged from Waukesha, Wisconsin, in 1986 with that first record, which T Bone Burnett produced. Since then, their catalog has grown to include songs like "Good Things," "You Don't Get Much," "Idaho," and "Closer to Free," the latter of which became the theme song for the TV series Party of Five.

Over the years they've supported U2, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Tom Petty, The Pretenders, and David Bowie, and have played Farm Aid, Summerfest, and ACL. This tour looks back at that whole run, with the video retrospective running alongside a set that reaches across their entire discography rather than sticking to one era.
