Bluegrass Night with The Bluegrass Outfit

The Bluegrass Outfit are back at Radio Coffee & Beer on Monday, August 3, for another night of bluegrass. They've been playing this same spot every Monday for 14 years and counting, so if you've been around the Austin scene for a while, you've probably seen them in some form or another. The night is part of a weekly series that runs from 7 PM to 10 PM, and they describe themselves as a loose association of bluegrass pickers from around town. That loose association is exactly what it sounds like: a rotating group of local players coming together to pick, rather than a fixed band with a set lineup. It's a long-running tradition of the place, and they're still at it.

Radio Coffee & Beer is located at 4204 Menchaca Road, and this is the venue's original location, Radio South, which has kept an Old Austin vibe alive since 2014. The music and trivia nights are rounded out by an outdoor patio, specialty coffee, craft beer, and food trucks on site. The brand also runs Radio Rosewood on the East Side and Radio East on Montopolis Drive, and it's been voted Austin's Best Coffee Shop ten years in a row.

The Bluegrass Outfit's Monday night is one of those things that's just always there, a steady part of the city's music calendar. It's bluegrass played by Austin pickers, in a spot that's been doing it for over a decade. The music runs from 7 PM to 10 PM at Radio South on Menchaca Road.
