Southwest regional premiere of India Kotis's comedy about a bisexual woman marrying the man she loves, by Jarrott Productions.
Bisexual Sadness opens at the Trinity Street Playhouse on November 5, running through November 22. It's a comedy by Los Angeles playwright India Kotis, and this is the Southwest regional premiere. The play is produced by Jarrott Productions, and it kicks off their 12th season, the 2026-27 run.
The story centers on Faye, a bisexual woman who is marrying a man she truly loves, even as part of her wishes he were a woman. That one choice ends up complicating everything she thinks she knows about her identity, where she belongs, and how she understands kinship and love. It's only the second time the play has ever been staged, so this is one of the few chances to see it.
Will Gibson Douglas directs, and he's also the producing artistic director for Jarrott Productions. He's described the title as both a joke and completely true, and he calls the play warm, messy and genuinely funny. The cast includes Kelsey Mazak, Jacqui Calloway, Christopher Gonzales, CB Feller, Catherine Woodiwis and Violet Bolton. It's a non-union production, and each performer receives a $650 stipend.
