A beginner-friendly acroyoga class focusing on partner-balance techniques, celebrating World Friendship Day with a $10 entry fee and a bring-a-friend-for-free offer.
Empowered Acro is hosting a beginner acroyoga class at Impact Martial Arts on Thursday, July 30, from 8 PM to 9:30 PM. The session is built around World Friendship Day and the idea of shared movement among friends, old and new, so it's a good excuse to drag a buddy along.
If you've never tried acroyoga, here's the gist: it's a partner-balance practice that blends yoga, acrobatics, and Thai massage. This particular class is designed for beginners, focusing on the fundamental techniques you need to get started. You'll work in small groups to practice basing, flying, and spotting—the three roles that make a pose happen. The base supports, the flyer balances, and the spotter keeps everyone safe. You'll rotate through those roles, so you get to feel what it's like from every angle rather than just sticking to one part.
It's a welcoming setup. The class is open to all bodies, and mats are provided, so you don't need to bring your own gear. Experienced instructors lead the way, which is helpful when you're figuring out how to balance on someone else for the first time. The whole thing is built around the spirit of World Friendship Day, and that comes through in the way the session is structured—working with others, learning together, and getting comfortable moving in a group.
