Monthly live-art battle where artists compete in a timed format; audience votes with cash or Venmo. All ages, free entry.
Beat Sessions returns to Spokesman Coffee Roasters on Monday, August 31, the last Monday of the month. It's a homegrown Texas art battle that takes over the back room at Spokesman South, and this month's matchup is Doza vs Bware.
The night is split into two parts. First is a live-art throwdown, where artists work on their pieces in front of the room. Then comes a 1v1 beat battle, where the winner is decided by the audience. It's a timed format, so you're watching the work happen in real time rather than just seeing the finished product on the wall.
If you've never been, the whole thing is built around the crowd. The audience votes for their favorite with cash or Venmo, and that's how the winner is crowned. It's a monthly thing, so if you miss this one, there's another on the last Monday of September.
