Monthly live-art battle where artists compete in a timed format and the audience votes with cash or Venmo to decide the winner.
Beat Sessions returns to Spokesman on Monday, July 27, for another round of its monthly live-art battle. It's a Texas home-grown competition hosted by Spokesman and organized by Hail Mary Productions, and the format is as straightforward as it gets: artists go head-to-head in a timed battle with no judges. The crowd decides the winner by voting with cash or Venmo, where one dollar equals one vote. The artist or team with the most votes takes it.
Between the battles, a rotating lineup of DJs keeps the room moving. This month's bill features DJ Tio ABE, No Kid$, Mister E, and MC Dee Green. If you're into the scene, there are limited-edition on-site tees available, with the color and design pulled from the participating artists. Five dollars from each shirt goes back to the artist and counts as a vote, so you can back your favorite without even being in the room for the final tally.
