Concert by Toronto-based singer-songwriter Bahamas (Afie Jurvanen) with support from Sister Ray at Emo's Austin.
Bahamas plays Emo's Austin on Saturday, November 21, 2026. Bahamas is the stage name of Afie Jurvanen, a Toronto singer-songwriter who works mostly with a minimalist, soulful guitar and a blend of indie folk and pop. His songs usually have a relaxed, summery feel, built around intricate guitar arrangements and smooth vocals. He's a collaborator by nature, having worked with Feist, The Weather Station, and Kathleen Edwards, and he's recorded with Vince Gill and Sam Bush. One of his better-known songs is "Lost in the Light."
Opening the bill is Sister Ray, the stage name of Ella Coyes. She's an Edmonton-born songwriter whose debut album, Communion, was longlisted for the 2022 Polaris Prize and picked up critical praise from Pitchfork. Between the two, it's a night of singer-songwriters from opposite ends of Canada coming down to Texas.
