Austin Sketch Fest returns to ColdTowne Theater this August, running across two weekends: August 14–16 and August 21–23. It's a scripted comedy showcase produced and booked by ColdTowne, which has brought in acts from New York, Chicago, Toronto, Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland and Dallas. The venue has a history of hosting names like Tim Robinson, Amber Ruffin, Ego Nwodim, Business Casual, Meg Stalter, Paul F. Tompkins and Master Pancake Theater.
This year's lineup brings in Andrew Dismukes from Saturday Night Live in New York, Assssketch from the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York, and Aly Dixon, also from NYC. One of the headliners is Shitty Mozart, a one-man show by Peabody winner and former Late Show with Stephen Colbert writer Aaron Nemo. In it, Nemo wears a cheap wig and surrounds himself with musical gadgets to perform a chaotic, vulgar concerto that blends music, animation and live bees. The piece has also played the San Francisco Sketchfest, the Flyover Comedy Festival and the New York Comedy Festival.

Because the festival runs across two weekends, you can buy a weekend badge-pass for $169, which gets you into every show and a complimentary t-shirt. If you'd rather just pick one night, single shows are $35 plus a $6.93 service fee, for $41.93 total. Under-17s have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
