Austin Kiddie Limits

Austin Kiddie Limits is back at Zilker Metropolitan Park this October, the dedicated kids' area inside the Austin City Limits Music Festival. It's open October 2–4 and October 9–11, from 1 PM to 6 PM each day, so you can drop in over either weekend. The whole point is to give the younger crowd their own space to play and create without having to follow the grown-up schedule. While the main festival is happening around them, the kids can do their own thing.

There's plenty to keep them busy. The area features live music, yoga, arts and crafts, workshops, dancing, temporary tattoos, a photo booth, and a drum zone. It's a mix of active and creative stations, so they can bounce from a dance floor to a craft table and then over to the drums. If you're bringing a group of kids, there's enough variety to keep different ages occupied at the same time.

It's all set within Zilker Metropolitan Park, which is more than 350 acres of parkland near Barton Creek and Lady Bird Lake. The park also holds Barton Springs Pool and the Zilker Botanical Garden, so there's plenty of green space around the festival. The wider Austin City Limits Music Festival, known as ACL, started in 2002 and takes its name from the long-running television music program Austin City Limits. It brings performers from several genres to nine stages across the park, with local food, art vendors, and festival merchandise—including the ACL Art Market—scattered throughout.

Austin Kiddie Limits is free for children ages 8 and under with a ticketed adult, with a maximum of two children per adult. It runs from 1 PM to 6 PM on October 2–4 and October 9–11 at the Austin Kiddie Limits area in Zilker Metropolitan Park, 2207 Lou Neff Rd, Austin, TX 78704.
