A choral concert exploring the arc of a psychedelic journey through the Johns Hopkins Psilocybin Playlist, with special guests Page Stephens, Justice Phillips and Luciano Laurentiu.
Austin Cantorum performs Visionary at First English Lutheran Church on Saturday, October 17, from 8 PM to 9:30 PM. It's a choral concert built around the Johns Hopkins Psilocybin Playlist, a collection of music curated to follow the arc of a psychedelic journey.
The program opens a window onto the research into how psychedelics are being used to help people suffering from PTSD, addiction, and other issues, turning the performance into an exploration of healing. The music follows that same trajectory, moving through the different stages of a psychedelic experience.
Joining the choir are three special guests: vocalist Page Stephens, guitarist Justice Phillips, and pianist Luciano Laurentiu. With a choir, a voice, a guitar, and a piano on stage, the sound should shift across the evening as the program moves through its arc.
