Intimate, immersive Dolby Atmos audio-visual live performances with spatial music and video projection, featuring Gentlebutterfly, James Talambas and The Sun Sounds Like Screaming Sirens.
Atomic Pulse v1 comes to dadaLab on Saturday, October 10, as an intimate, immersive audio-visual performance built for deep listening and expanded perception. The bill brings together three artists from across the Texas triangle: Austin's Gentlebutterfly, Dallas's James Talambas, and Houston's The Sun Sounds Like Screaming Sirens. Visuals are provided by Austin video artist Hexpartner, with live audio support from Gabriel Brown.
The setup is what sets this apart from a standard show. It runs on an 11-channel Dolby Atmos surround playback system paired with an immersive video projection wall, a combination that pushes the artists to compose specifically for the full Atmos field rather than simply remixing existing tracks for surround. The program mixes live spatial music with experimental sound environments and live projection, so you're hearing sound move through the room around you while watching visuals projected across the wall.
