Annual maker market with locally crafted goods, music, activities and raffles as part of the Austin Studio Tour.
Asmbly Makerspace is hosting its annual Asmbly Maker Market on Saturday, November 14, and Sunday, November 15, from 11 AM to 5 PM. It's a free event, and it's part of the Austin Studio Tour, a city tradition that's been running for more than 20 years, connecting the public with local studios, galleries, and artists.
What sets this market apart from your usual craft fair is how it's set up. Asmbly describes it as the city's most unusual vending experience because the makers show you exactly where their work comes to life. Instead of just a table of finished goods, you'll see the locally crafted items displayed right alongside the equipment used to make them. That means the CNC mill and wood lathe sit near the things they've turned out, and the pottery wheel and sewing machine are right there with the ceramics and textiles. You get to see the tool and the result in the same breath.
Beyond the tables, the weekend is rounded out with music, electronics activities, raffles, cookies and punch, and giveaways from community sponsors. It's as much a day of hanging out as it is a place to shop.

Asmbly Makerspace itself is a 13,000-square-foot community workspace run as a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit, and this year's market is supported in part by an Elevate Grant from Austin Arts, Culture, Music, & Entertainment. The market runs both Saturday and Sunday, November 14 and 15, from 11 AM to 5 PM, and it's free to attend.
