Indoor Latinx art market with mini concerts, cultural presentations, art classes and craft workshops.
Artisan Mercado & Latinx Cultural Crafts returns to 506 Congress Ave on Saturday, September 19, from 10 AM to 5 PM. It's an indoor Latinx art market that brings together artists, musicians, writers, and craftspersons under one roof. If you've missed the previous ones, it's worth knowing that the market runs the first and third Saturday of the month from May through December, so this is one of several chances to catch it.
The market is the main draw, but there's a whole other layer that kicks in midday. From 12 PM to 2 PM, the space fills with mini concerts, cultural presentations, art classes, and craft workshops. You can hang out and enjoy free art, and if you're in the mood to learn, there are poetry readings, history and culture presentations, art exhibits, and art classes to pick from. The workshops and cultural events are the part that runs on that tighter midday schedule, so if you want to catch the live performances and the teaching, aim for that 12-to-2 window.

It's a free event, and you only pay $5 if a particular workshop requires materials. The market itself is open all day, 10 AM to 5 PM, so you can come early to browse the booths and stay through the midday programming. It's at 506 Congress Ave in downtown Austin.
