A free artisan market featuring Latinx cultural crafts, with workshops, mini concerts, art classes and cultural presentations.
Artisan Mercado & Latinx Cultural Crafts is back at 506 Congress Ave on Saturday, December 5, from 10 AM to 5 PM. It's a free, indoor Latinx art experience that brings artists, musicians, writers and craftspersons under one roof, and it's part of a regular run that hits the first and third Saturday of the month from May through December.
The market itself is the anchor, but there's a lot more going on around it. Between 12 PM and 2 PM, the day fills up with mini concerts, cultural presentations, art classes and craft workshops, poetry readings, history and culture talks and art exhibits. It's the kind of afternoon where you can browse the stalls and then drift into a workshop or a reading without having to leave the building.
Because it runs twice a month from May through December, you don't have to worry if you miss this one—there's usually another coming up a couple of weeks later. If you're looking for a low-stakes way to spend a Saturday morning or afternoon downtown, this is a good bet.

Admission is free. The workshops and cultural events are free too, though there's a $5 fee if materials are required for a class. The market runs from 10 AM to 5 PM, with the workshops and cultural programming concentrated between 12 PM and 2 PM.
