Art City Austin's Fiesta

Art City Austin's Fiesta returns to the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center on Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, from 12 PM to 9 PM. It's an all-ages, family-friendly weekend that brings together music, art, and food on Rainey Street.

The music is a big part of it. The lineup includes Riders Against the Storm, Los Desechos, Lesly Reynaga and Band, Frederico7, Los Gatos 512, and Bidi Bidi Banda, a Selena tribute. Beyond those sets, there's mariachi, folklórico, Aztec dance, contemporary cumbia, Brazilian rhythms, and jazz. The outdoor Arts Market gathers more than 30 artisans and makers alongside live performances, interactive activities, and food, with contributions from community groups across Central Texas.

There's some history behind it. Art City Austin's Fiesta started in 1950 as a juried arts and crafts fair, making it the city's longest-running arts festival. This year it's celebrating 75 years of Austin creativity. It's grown along with the city while staying true to its roots as a celebration of local artists and culture, and it's still run by Art City Austin, a non-profit dedicated to supporting them. This edition returns to the newly renovated Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center at 600 River St. in Austin.

Admission is $1. The festival runs both Saturday and Sunday, 12 PM to 9 PM, so you can drop in for a few hours or spend the whole weekend there.
