Singer-songwriter Angelyn performs a solo set blending country, folk rock and Americana at The Dizzy Rooster as part of her weekly residency.
Angelyn is playing The Dizzy Rooster on Thursday, September 17, as part of a weekly residency she's running every Wednesday and Thursday from 4 PM to 7 PM. It's a late-afternoon slot, so if you're looking for something to do before the usual night crowd hits, this is a good place to start.
Angelyn is a 26-year-old singer-songwriter based here in Austin, though she's originally from Huntington Beach, California. She got her start playing covers and went on to form the band Blind Innocence, whose debut album, Little Girl, toured nationwide before the group broke up in 2020 when COVID hit. Since moving to Austin, she's built a following as an emerging country artist, and these residency sets are where you'll find her now.
She plays a solo singer-songwriter set that blends country, folk rock, and americana, mixing her own original songs with covers and the stories behind them. It's a mix of the two things that define her current work: the new material she's writing on her own and the songs she's pulling from the country and folk traditions. Because it's a residency, she's in the room twice a week, which gives her a chance to work through her set and play for a regular crowd.
